Eye Movement Sensitization and Reprocessing Therapy

Traumas and painful experiences from the past can cause difficulty in your present. Whether you are noticing your past holding you back or are exploring shifting foundational beliefs about yourself, EMDR might be a good fit for you. EMDR is an approach focused on embodiment, nervous system connection, and the integration of past experiences. EMDR helps the brain heal, and it can also help us learn emotional tolerance and mindfulness skills.

Studies show 84-90 percent of survivors with single trauma incidents no longer meet criteria for PTSD after only three sessions. But EMDR is not just a trauma therapyโ€”EMDR has been used with multiple issues ranging from low self-worth, anxiety, recovery from addiction, depression, and grief.

EMDR can transform wounds from the past, decreasing emotional and physical distress. Many of our counselors at Healing House are experienced EMDR practitioners. See more about our EMDR counselors here.
