Meet Ashley Hartland
Licensed Master Social Worker
About me
Hello and welcome! I’m Ashley, a licensed master social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and a deep understanding of the mind-body connection. I specialize in working with young adults and adults of all genders, races, and identities, and I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space where healing can unfold at your pace.
My approach is rooted in the belief that healing is a dynamic process that involves the whole person—the mind, body, and spirit. I take a person-in-environment approach, recognizing that the challenges you face are often shaped by your unique environment, experiences, and relationships. Together, we will explore the ways your past and present have influenced your current struggles, whether they are related to trauma, disconnection, or patterns that no longer serve you.
I specialize in working with individuals who are experiencing trauma-related symptoms, including those with post-traumatic stress, borderline personality disorder, body image difficulties, depression, and anxiety. With a background in outpatient hospital settings, I have experience supporting those dealing with chemical dependency, trauma, and mental health challenges. My education on the practices of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and talk therapy allows me to tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, helping you build emotional resilience and create meaningful change.
I believe in the power of expression, so I often incorporate art and movement into therapy to help you reconnect with your body and process somatic experiences of trauma. This can be especially helpful for those who have difficulty accessing or verbalizing their emotions.
What you can expect from me is a supportive and nurturing environment where we can work collaboratively. I value humor, genuineness, and warmth, and I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on mutual respect and trust. I am here to meet you where you are and guide you toward self-discovery and growth, with a focus on fostering an internal caregiving system that helps you manage shame and develop a compassionate relationship with yourself. I would be honored to share this space with you and support you on your journey to healing. Together, we can explore your experiences, work through challenges, and unlock your potential for growth and transformation.
If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’d love to hear from you.
